Prevent double booking withing wehicle checkout database

Hello, I am having a problem with a database that I have. The database is a
vehicle checkout one that I helped create. The part where I am stuck is when
a user goes to checkout a vehicle they click on checkout vehicle and then can
slecet the vehicle they want along with the start/end date start/end time ect.
. How would I prevent a user from double booking a vehicle? Right now the
user picks the vehicle and then in a subform it shows all of the current
times and dates it is checked out which is a prevenative measure within
itslef but I would like a message box to come up if they try and book a
vehicle on the same day in a time period thay may overlap another time that
it is already scheduled to be checked out. Any help is appreciated on this.
