Prevent access to directory of images

G

Guest

I'm using MS FrontPage 2002.

Images I use for a website are stored in a folder called "images."
Unfortunately, the contents of this folder are accesible to anyone who types
in the specific URL, as in

http://www.oldmencrying.com/images/

How do I prevent access to this URL?

This seems like such a simple issue but I can't seem to find any answers in
the Help menu or elsewhere.

Thank you.

you could do what Tom said, or you could just put an "index" page in there
(it can even be blank). then if someone types in the image folder's direct
address the server by default will give them the index page.

Open the directory and create a new page. Save it as index.htm(l).
You can leave it blank or include a polite message telling the user that
there are no user files in this directory, or This is a restricted
area......you get the picture.
