"Press DEL to continue" after POST

Hi everybody,

My computer has just recently started asking me to press
the delete key after during the initial startup routine.
It completes the initial POST and then, just before
WINDOWS should start its launch, it stops what it's doing
and gives me the message " Press DEL to continue. I press
the delete key and the machine then starts Windows 2000
normally.

All I can say is...I'm stumped. I've looked at the BIOS
and nothing jumps out at me. I've upgraded to the lastest
BIOS version.

I'm stuck.

find tons of references all pointing to Dell computers.

Some pieces of harware on your comp will crash very soon...
