Prepare Media - RSM error 4309

We have a Quantum DLT1 tape drive in our W2K server and
when I try to Prepare the media in the Free Media Pool
using Computer Management, I get an error messages "A
resource required for this operation is disabled." Our
backups are working intermittently with ArcServe 2000 and
I wonder if this is a cause. I have installed the latest
Quantum device driver 2.2. NT Backup won't work at all.

Hi Tom,
I have the exact same issue at the moment at a client of our. I read
in another newsgroup article that arcserve takes full control of the
tape device. If you want to use ntbackup rather then you have to
uninstall Arcserve off the server. I have done this at my site but I
haven't had a chance to reboot the server to see if it worked or not.
