preferences - inbox and newest message (content) appearing

When I open MS Office Outlook, I want the newest (most recent) message in my
Inbox to be the one that automatically appears. Right now it's consistently
the older message that appears. I.E., oldest message line gets 'highlighted'
(top half of window), and thus its content appears in the bottom half of the
window. How can I change this?
