Dear sir
I have both side machines running Window XP pro and both use linksys
router. The provider router (192.168.1.100-110) end use static IP and the
client router end use dynamic (192.168.1.1). I have the provider port 1723
forward to the right machine and both router PPTP enabled. All firewalls
turn off. I can see the connection on both machines. But I cannot see the
files, or the machine on the other side on network neightbourhood. Need help
....

(1) Should I change the client ip to static and use 192.168.2.1 ?
(2) Should I port forward the 1723 on the client side too ?
(3) SHould I port foreard 47 too ?

yes, you should change tthe IP range. quoted from http://www.chicagotech.net/vpn.htm
Can't access the remote network at home only

Symptoms: you setup VPN on a laptop connecting to the office VPN Server. At home, you can connect and authenticate just fine but can't ping any address on the remote network. If using the same laptop in a different location, the VPN works.

Cause: The problem is the home LAN (VPN client) using the same IP rangeas the remote LAN you were trying to dial into. Don't send e-mail or reply to me except you need consulting services. Posting on MS newsgroup will benefit all readers and you may get more help.
