PPT Present mode: How to do a text box pop up with a mouse over?

I would like to create an action setting for an icon on a slide, that upon
mouse over creates a popup text window next to the icon that then goes away
when the mouse is moved off of the icon. Thoughts and recommendations please.

There is a sample here which you can take a look at:

Alternately, you can try out Sonia quicktrick #16 using Screentip. Take note
though, that screentip will only appear on screen for a few seconds and then
disappear:

Thank you very much....
You have given me several alternatives and I can use them all.
- wish I knew enough to return the favor... perhaps another time.

Hello tohlz,

I have similar question on this. I already have a text box pop up created
and it is working fine. However, is there a way where I can link this popup
to a database since the information changes monthly. So, I would not need to
change the popup text in the coding and have it automatically update when my
database is updated... ?
