I am on a school network. After adding several photos to slides, the whole file was saved. We viewed the slides, minimized the PPT, worked with PPT and Publisher simultaneousely. Suddenly the computer crashed. I rebooted only to get this message: The message states " PPt can't open this type of file represented by H:\Pictures 2003-2004\Mrs Mount 2003-2004.ppt. The file is displayed in "Explore as a 2928KB sized file.

In the future, if possible, try to work off your hard drive instead of a
network. Sometimes, PowerPoint does not play well with networks.

Copy the file from your H:\Pictures 2003-2004\ directory to your desktop
prior to editing, then copy and paste it back when done.
