PPT 2007, copying presentation w/music to CD

I have the trial version; I have successfully copied all files of the
presentation, including linked MP3 files to a CD. The problem is just one of
the songs on the copied CD seems to get corrupted, in that it sounds like 2
tracks out of sync and/or an echoing sound. It doesn't play like that in the
original presentation on my laptop. I have recopied this presentation from
laptop to CD twice, using the Powerpoint tool and also my laptop's CD
recording software. Problem with this song file still the same. Any ideas??
Thanks!

On your laptop what do you use to play the sound file outside of PowerPoint?

I use iTunes, sometimes Windows Media player. Also, I tried the CD on a
"regular" CD player and the echo/distorted track is still apparent in just
that one song file. Again, not in the Powerpoint program from my computer, or
when I play it in iTunes. And I imported the songs from my own "store
bought" CD to iTunes.

Try going to Start, Run and enter mplayer2.exe. This is what PowerPoint uses
to play it's selections. navigate to your sound file and see you can play
it.

As you suggested, I have opened mplayer2.exe and played the song; it plays
fine, all by itself. It's in the presentation, from the CD, that this song
plays with a 2nd "delayed" or "echo" track. I've compared all the files from
what's on my pc with what was copied to the CD. All match up. I opened the
CD presentation and tested the sound file where it starts in the slide; the
song plays fine on it's own. This is the only song in the presentation that
has the echo glitch while playing during the slideshow.
