PowerPoint Templates

How does PowerPoint manage its templates on your hard drive? I tried
gathering all the templates (POT) files on my hard disk to one new folder.
However I find working from this folder a little troublesome.

For instance I can't seem to save templates there. What is the best way to
manage a large collection of templates from various sources?

Thanks in advance...Tony

Thanks Glenna - the article was useful.

I think I have understood what was happening.
When you save a file as a pot (template extension), PowerPoint sends you
automatically to where it stores templates. In other words, the application
is helping you manage your templates by pointing you to one location.

I took a tip from the article and set up a "Best" subdirectory within the
default template directory, where I save my best templates. I can now go
there to look for my favorite templates. I might also set up "Dark" and
"Light" subdirectories for templates with dark backgrounds and templates
with light backgrounds.

Cheers...Tony
