powerpoint- lost custom animation toolbar on the side

powerpoint- I lost custom animation toolbar on the side of presentation when
I click on the button in the top toolbar it doesn't do anything (where it
usued to toggle on and off)

What if you right-click an object and choose Custom Animation. Does the
animation task pane open then?

Also, has it perhaps been re-sized too small?

or has it been 'disconnected' from snapping to the other toolbars... and
perhaps it's floating somewhere very close to the edge of your screen?
