powerpoint can't launch microsoft graph

Am trying to insert a graph into powerpoint, but get error message "can;t
launch microsoft graph". Have installed all options. any suggestions?

Is this PPT2003/Office 2003?
How was Office installed, via a network share?
Do you have Norton AV?
