Powerpoint 2003 text in text box not appearing 1 Dell Studio lapto

Running a Powerpoint 2003 slide show, there is one slide that has custom
animation and builds the bullet points. It is easy to read the text in the
text box on all of my computers except for a new Dell Studio running
Microsoft Vista. The bullet points build as check marks but the text that
should appear is not appearing. I have checked the font color thinking that
was the problem, but the color is the same on each computer that I am able to
see the text on. Any ideas on what is preventing this from being seen on this
Dell laptop? I copied the Powerpoint presentation onto a CD and checked it on
every other computer that I have and the text is easiy seen. If I go into
custom animation I can see the text even on the Dell laptop. Why can I not
see it?

Hi Lucy,

Both the Desktop and the new Dell wth the problem are using Powerpoint 2003.
They are both using Vista. Another Dell laptop is running Windows XP with
Powerpoint 2003, and has no issue with the text not being seen in that box. I
could send you the slide, but I do not see an option to attach a file.

Hi Randy

Feel free to send me a sample to lucyATaneasiertomorrowDOTcomDOTau - make
the obvious changes. I'm off out for a meeting but will have a look when I
get back.

Did you have a look at the graphics hardware acceleration thing?

Hi Lucy,
I'll send the attachment to you now. I'll try those links as soon as my
daughter is off to dance class. She is using it at the moment.

I attempted to try your first link, however, when I try yp Trobuleshoot, the
Change settings is grayed out. It says. "your current display driver does not
allow changes to be made to hardware acceleratiom settings.

I installed the print driver as the tutorial recommended and then started
Powerpoint 2003. The problem persists. I'll email another attaachment of a
print screen so you can see the missing text. It will show the custom
animation with the text in each of the 4 lines there.

Hi John,

I'll send you the slide in question. The missing text on the Dell running
Vista is next to each of the 4 check marks.

Hi Lucy,

The problem is now fixed. Somehow, I must have dowanloaded Powerpoint Viewer
2007 which was conflicting with Powerpoint 2003 office edition. I am not sure
if I downloaded that or perhaps my daughter. But thank you for all of your
help.
