PowerPoint 2003: Keep formatting for slides used in past presentat

When creating a new presentation, you must "insert, slides from files, find
old presentation, select slides, and 'check' Keep Formatting." This is great
to use but you have a problem with the master header and footer coming along.

However, it also brings along the header and footer of the slide master
header and footer of the old presentation. I then need to go into the slide
master for that page and copy the format from the new presentation slide
master into the new slide master.

I'm sorry, I don't understand your question. Could you rephrase, or maybe
give us step-by step instructions for what you're doing and what you expect
to happen?
