A user in our company has a PowerPoint presentation that was created in PP2003. After saving it, she can now not open it anymore. I get that old "PowerPoint can't read file.ppt" chestnut.
I've tried most of the suggestions on this page
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011168781033.aspx
but nothing really worked out. I've tried recovering with third-party programs, but they are all demos, and didn't look like they recovered much anyway.
However, when I open the file in the PowerPoint 2003 viewer or PP 2000, it opens up fine.
As far as I know, there is no scripting or macros in this presentation. What can make it so that it doesn't open in PP2003? I've tested it on some other machines with 2003 on, and it does the same thing.
Anybody seen anything like this?
