Does anybody know of a work around to be able to edit a
power point presentation between XP and 97?

Do you mean that you want to have two users, one with XP, the other with 97,
trade a file back and forth for editing?

In theory it's possible, within limits. The person with 97 wouldn't be able
to edit the master slides if there are any beyond the normal two that it
understands, and in opening and resaving the file, they might also cause the
newer animations and such to go away.

It might be best to avoid doing this, or at least to limit the edits to
content changes early on, then have the person with XP apply any XP-specific
formatting and animations at the end; once you arrive at that phase, don't
edit the presentation in 97 any more.
