Power Management Issues

My power management used to work fine, and now, it doesn't. It goes into screensaver, then comes out of it, and the computer just stays on--it doesn't turn off the monitor (like it used to), it doesn't go into hybernate (like it used to). Can anyone help!
 
possibly this problem is :an update from microsoft changed
the setting allowing the network modem to wake the computer
from standby, go into modem properties to change this back
to ' do not allow the modem to wake the computer'.
