Potential security concern message

I have a presentation that has a link to an excel spread sheet. Each time I
run this I get a pop up message saying a potential security concern with an
option to cancel or update links. I would like the links to be updated
automatically and not have this pop up message. I have enabled all macros as
trusted and unticked everything in the privacy options. I've enabled all
controls in the Active X area and added a trusted location and I have ticked
the Allow trusted locations on my network box. Any assistance on this would
be greatly appreciated

Security warning message when clicking hyperlink in PowerPoint 2003: "files
might harm your computer"

Thanks for that. I have downloaded the registry tweak and have manually
checked that the security settings have been modified, but this still does
not solve the problem. It is not hyperlinks that are the issue here. I have
simply created a powerpoint slide in a presentation where the data comes from
excel.

As soon as I run the powerpoint presentation, the security message is
displayed asking me to update links or cancel.

I simply want an auto update when the powerpoint is run at the start.

I can't do any of those things you mention. The powerpoint presentation runs
a macro calling the other presentation. Surely there must be a way?

Ok, I'll explain what I am doing without tring to go into too much detail. I
have a quiz game written in powerpoint 2007. After each round I find out the
scores from each team and enter these in a separate excel spread sheet which
is run separately on the taskbar. I run presenter mode with dual screens so
that I can view notes etc on my powerpoint screen while the audience and
teams see the presentation on their powerpoint screen. Each round category
is a separate presentation which contains a slide at the start linking to the
excel sheet for the current scores. Each presentation has a run macro at the
end to call the next presentation that I have chosen (prior to the game being
presented). I do this because powerpoint does not like 'large' presentations
and runs slower, so doing each question category separately makes it far
easier to manage.

If there was a way of entering scores in powerpoint directly then that would
solve my problem.
