Posting/Reply Sequence?

Why doesn’t this newsgroup bump up an original posting when
someone posts a reply? After a day or so, any replies are
lost down in the list. The search feature is not very
useful in finding a specific posting either. Other
groups/boards, such as Cruisecritics, Opera Forums, etc.,
automatically bump the posting up to show that new replies
are being posted. Example: I post my question on 3/28 and
someone replies on 3/30. I must page down to 3/28 to find
my original posting and to see if any replies are posted.
Is there a simpler way or am I not doing something right?
Thanks!

Try using a real newsreader - even Outlook Express is better than the
god-awful web interface.

You can solve all of your problems with a newsreader rather than a forum
interface. Outlook Express and Google: newsreader will permit a much
faster workflow. Most newsreaders will automatically sort replies to
your postings, permit custom tagging of interesting threads, etc. This
newsgroup is on the server news://msnews.microsoft.com and the group
microft.public.windowsxp.general. The msnews servers is available free
of charge to almost anyone with an internet connection, dial-up,
broadband, or stretched wire.

The reason you're having such problems is that you are using the
web interface to read this newsgroup--it's the slowest,
clunkiest, most error-prone method there is. Do yourself a favor
and switch to a newsreader, such as Outlook Express, which comes
with Windows.
