Posting New Messages in Discussion Groups

G

Guest

I have Windows XP with IE6 and have been trying to post new messages to discussion groups on my home pc (I am using a different pc for this message). For over a week, when I try to post a message I cannot do so and I have been getting the error message
"Service Temporarily Unavailabl
We apologize for this inconvenience. Please try again later."
Does anyone have any idea why and how I might solve the 'problem' ? Many Thanks

If you think that the newsgroup that you want to post to is otherwise available
the first thing that I would try is a Ctrl-F5 Refresh (or even a complete
clearing of the TIF.)

If you need more help post a link and describe the navigation
you used to access it from.

In case you are using one of the old portals you could try beginning
your navigation from the Microsoft Home page.
Then under Resources: < Communities >
in that menu: < Newsgroups >

From there it seems that the easiest method of navigating to a set
of newsgroups is to search for a known post, open it, then click on the
newsgroup name that it was posted to. Otherwise be aware that most
of the English newsgroups are listed under the English entry for
United States. One final FYI since it isn't very obvious: the newsgroups
for Internet Explorer are further buried under a Windows - Windows
subhierarchy.

Robert, thanks for your reply

Let me be a a little clearer in describing my problem

I navigate to say the "Internet Explorer 6 General" Discussion/Newsgroup via the path you outlined (or indeed any other path) and can search the messages and replies and read them perfectly well

I then click on the "New" button or "Reply" button and a webform 'pops-up' and functions correctly in allowing me to enter my New mesage or my Reply. The problem comes when I click on the "Send" button after completing my drafting. After I "Send", another webform 'pops-up' with the error mesage

"Service Temporarily Unavailabl
We apologise for this inconvenience. Please try again later."

This has happened everytime I've tried to post a mesage on my home PC since around Christmas (everything worked fine prior to then)

The "Properties" of the error message 'pop-up' screen gives the following info

URL Address of WEb Form Reply

http://communities2.microsoft.com/library/gallery/components/wn/2/aspx/err.aspx?shell

Can anyone help further

Many Thank

Thanks for the advice Wesley, but I'd like to try to get Internet Explorer to do the job for me (as it did perfectly well before Christmas) before giving up and using OE.

Steve;
You're trying to use a hammer when a toothbrush is called for.
Just my opinion.)
