Post Virus Damage

Computer will not install any anti-virus software.
Browser will not access any anti-virus manufacturers
sites and will not acccess a url such as
microsoft.com/security/protect/ports.asp.

Grateful for any help
 
Ditto. I was able to run Norton AntiVirus from msconfig in the run program under minimal boot and like to have never gotten out of that into a regular boot. Some help would be nice.

Hi

Your hosts file could be compromised by spyware, malware etc.,
edit the following file with Notepad:

Win95/98/ME: %windir%\hosts
Windows NT/2000/XP: %windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

If there is anything within the file, remove it (the only line that
usually is in there is "127.0.0.1 localhost" in addition to
the comment lines at the top).
