possible to restore users from System State data?!

Hi,
I have made a backup from my domain controller's system state data and now
we have installed win2k server on a new machine and I need to restore only
my users to the new domain controller from the system state data I backed
up.
is this possible?

Now, if you promoted a new DC in your current domain, then the AD database
will replicate everything over to it, including your users/groups/computers,
etc. So not exactly sure what you're asking here. It should have happened
automatically. NO need to do any sort of restore whatsoever.

If you are experiencing any errors, please provide:

1. Any errors in the Event Logs. Provide the Event ID #s please.
2. Unedited ipconfig /all from both DCs
3. The AD DNS Domain name (as it appears in ADUC)
4. The zone name in DNS and whether:
a. SRV exist
b. Dynamic Updates set to yes in zone properties.
5. Service Pack level of both machines.

Or, if the new domain controller is in a different domain and you want to
move all of the user accounts from the old domain to the new one, you can
use the Active Directory Migration Tool (ADMT) to migrate the user accounts
to the new domain.
