Possible spoofing while disguising as a test

Help! I rec'd an e-mail to me from me that said "This is an e-mail message sent automatically by Microsoft Outlook's Account Manager while testing the settings for your POP3 account." I did not send this nor did I test my POP3 settings. I checked the internet header that was included and it went through another company's mail server and then back to me. Could someone have gained access to my e-mail? How can you test and/or change someone else's mail settings? Thanks

Unhappily I have seen this quite often. No matter how secure you are, there are
some people out there with inadequate protection and one of these has your email
address in his address book and it has been spoofed. It has happened to several
of my users, and indeed to me.
