possible problem with printer and/or USB port.

Hi, I'm not sure if these two problems are related or not but I'm having a
problem with my printer. It's a Lexmark Z35. the color cartridge is darn
near 100% and the black is above 75% Basicly... it prints like crap. the
black portions in particular. I have tried the test/nozzle cleaning pages
but never any change. The troubleshooter suggested that I look at
communicztion between the pc and the printer, which appears to be fine, but
when I open the USB ports section in the device manager and try to check the
driver details, or update the driver, or enable/disable (anything along those
lines - for the USB section only), the device manager freezes up and stops
responding. The only way I can close it is to use task manager. Any
suggestions??? Sorry for the long post. thanks!!!!!

Sounds as if you're using COMPATIBLE cartridges instead of the real
thing, Lexmark! If so, there's your problem. If not, wait til the next
responder comes along who knows Lexmark!

No... they are Lexmark cartridges. And they have worked before, but it does
seem like I had to run the align/clean procedure before each successful
print. Actually I'm not too positive about that last statement.... thanks
anyway...
