POSITIVES AND NEGATIVES - FEEDBACK

Barry Hacker

I am so impressed with this early Beta that I had t share
the good things I love about it as well as some problems.

GOOD THINGS:
A: The interface is easy for a newbie to use. I have
several clients who are now using it and find it easy to
run.
B: THE VERY BEST PART OF THE APP that defines it as no
other spy ware/AV product does is its ability IN ENGLISH
to explain to a non-techy person what was found and why it
should be removed. This explanation is SUPERB and makes
even this early BETA fantastic. THE EXPLANATIONS finally
are achieving what was supposed to occur with XP (IE
intelligent useful easy to understand explanations.) lol

SERIOUSLY this makes this tool really stand out!

FAILINGS: It at this point after first finding tons of
stuff on my PC as well as a client's who really was HI
JACKED (Found over on first run 46 different SPY WARE
BHO's, etc.

Unfortunately even after removal, they kept on
reappearing ergo they didn't get em all. The same on my
PC.

In contrast after running it over a dozen times on my PC,
CA Etrust Pest Patrol (newest version) found AFTER RUNNING
MSANTISPYWARE, the following NASTY's which I have verified
and viewed.

Here they are and these were totally missed:

We must also remember, it is still in the early stages and will continue to
get better over time. Common issues such as updates can be easily solved by
doing a manual update, File > Check for updates.

If you are having issues with false positives, you have an opportunity for
it to not be considered spyware:

If you aren't getting clean of bugs that Microsoft Antispyware
detects--restart in safe mode, and scan at least twice--use full scan,
rather than quick scan, and scan until one comes through clean.

You would be well advised to also scan with your current antivirus in the
same manner--safe mode, until clean.
