Positioning Guides

Is there a way to position guides from a dialog box? It often happens
that when I try to position a guide manually it skips the position I'm
trying to place it at, e.g. the position indicator will show 3.51 then
3.53, and, of course, I want 3.52. The only way I can get it to the
right spot is by zooming in to 150% or sometimes it has to be 200%. So
if there was another way to do it without having to zoom I'd really
like to know about it.

Thanks.

Have you tried clicking and dragging the guide the the Alt key kept down? It allows for fine movement off the grid

I hadn't tried it, but now that I have I'm sorry to report that it
achieved nothing. I still can't position the guides to the exact spot
that I want them without zooming in to at least 150%.

What I find hard to believe is that there isn't a dialog box with which
you can set the position of the guides. CorelDRAW certainly works that
way as well, as do (I think) many other programs.

Any other suggestions?

Hello,

PowerPoint does not provide a dialog for controlling the number/placement
of visible drawing guides.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) have some suggestions for how
to make using the grid and guides more useful (without having to resort to
VBA or add-ins), don't forget to send your feedback to Microsoft at:

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also why it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
