Please provide the definitions for the following port
descriptions:

standard TCP/IP port
local port
port

A port has been deleted from my computer. I need it to
install a printer located an internet server. I want to
make sure that I am using the correct "Add" feature. I
have searched your FAQs and was unable to see something
that would help me.
Thanks for your help.

Standard TCP/IP port
Submits data from client to the printer over TCP/IP. Data can be in LPR
format or RAW format

Local Port
Local physical connectors that interface directly with the printer
LPT, USB, 1394, serial
local ports can also be file ports that send the data to a file using the
printer language format.

The http port, when creating an HTTP connection to a server over the
internet, gets created by the spooler when the spooler cannot make an RPC
connection and falls back to HTTP.

Here is some info on how to connect to http hosted printers.
