Port 5000

I ran the Symantec security check and it said that port 5000 (UPnP) is the
only one open. I tried to close it by turning off UPnP in the control panel
but it is still open.

Is this a real threat ? If so can it be closed ?

Thanks for any help offered,

Click Start | Run type in "services.msc" (without the quotes) and click OK.
Stop/Disable the following services:

SSDP Discovery Service
Universal Plug and Play Device Host

{to disable the service right-click and select properties, then you can set
the startup type to disabled}

Now Port 5000 should be secure :)
