popup window

Does anyone know how to send values to and pop up a new window,
without leaving the current window. I need to be able to control the
size of the popup window. The values to be sent to to the popup window
are not viewed on the page by the user.

More specifically, I want to pass some values , say A, B & C, to the
next window that the user is navigating to, say WinX. As WinX
appears, another smaller window pops up with the values A, B & C
displayed in it. The smaller window is for the users temporary
reference.
