Pop-up still popping up

I'm running WinXP SP2 and IE 6.###etc. I regularly run Zone Alarm, AdAware
^SE, and Spybot Search & Destroy. IE6 will not block certain pop-ups. I've
noticed the Flash pop-ups and GIF pop-ups come through unscathed. My system
is clean of all bugaboos. Suggestions?

Disable scripting in the Internet Zone? Other than that maybe a third party
popup blocker (see www.panicware.com for a decent freeware blocker) will do
the trick. You can use the one above and set it to aggressive and it should
then kill anything that opens without you having clicked on it. Otherwise
you'll need to press the CTRL key to get any popups to open at all - even
wanted ones. The problem is that as soon as a popup blocking utility becomes
popular site authors develop new ways to create them. It's like a game of
cat and mouse really. They tend to be created with the use of scripting -
JavaScript being the most common - and if you surf without that enabled in
the Internet Zone you'll probably see far fewer popups.
