poor quality on DVD

Sheryl B.

I finished my first movie with MM2 & the quality is
terrible. It's grainy & jumpy. I transferred from my
Sony video camera with firewire using iLink following the
standard steps in MM2. The video when played on the PC
is perfect. Something is lost when I transfer to DVD. I
have tried several programs to transfer the movie to DVD
including Sonic & Roxio. I've saved the movie as AVI (37
min movie won't fit on DVD!), NTSC (DVD player won't read
disc), & the standard format used by MM2 program,
whatever that is. Nothing has improved the quality.
What can I do to capture the same quality on the DVD as
on my PC? I'm not real PC savvy...I've read all the
posts here & several other sites, but nothing has changed
the end result of a DVD so poor I might as well not
bother. Can anyone help?

Following on from the previous posts, you need to import the avi file in to
roxio and get it to convert it to mpeg2 format for dvd. Which version of
nero do you have?

I don't think I have nero. I have Roxio Easy CD & DVD
creator 6. When I saved the movie in MM2 as an avi file,
the 37 min. movie wouldn't fit on the DVD. I was hoping
the avi would take care of the quality problem but I
couldn't get it on the disk.

I don't know how to make roxio convert the avi file to
mpeg2. I guess I just need the most simple instructions
possible for how to transfer my MM2 movie to DVD with
best quality. Thanks for any help you can give!

Sorry that was me, too many neros today for my own good. I'm afraid I do not
have roxio so cannot give you step by step instructions. Have you tried the
help files in the programme? Hopefully someone with roxio will come along
and tell you how to do it. Maybe head up another question, How do I burn a
dvd with roxio........
