poor picture quality when making a DVD photo slideshow

I have had this problem for some time and it is driving me crazyyyyy.
I have a P4 3.0 and 1G of Dual channel memory, 300G hard drive, and a ATI
All in wonder 9800 pro AGP video card.
I have tried to make a DVD photo slide show with many different programs and
for some reason when I play the DVD, all the pictures are fuzzy and looks to
be out of focus. I used to make very sharp DVD slideshows, but now they are
not even worth watching. I don't know what is wroge and because of that I
have even tried to reinstall the windows (XP pro) 10 times and I just don't
know what is causing it. I even tried not to install the Norton( antivires),
thinking that may be the problem. I have updated all my softwares and even
tried to install a few at a time just to see which one is causing this
problem. I would really hope someone can help. Thanks

What is the pixel size of the images you are using?

Do these images look acceptable when viewed full
screen in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer?

How are you creating the slide show?

What software are you using to create the DVD?

i have used the DVD Slideshow Builder for a long time which is easy to
create a customized DVD slide show with photos and videos, and you can
add music, transitions, motion effects and make beautiful DVD menus. i
like it very much due to its high performance.

you can try it here

I am using 6 MP camera and 12Mp camera (image size 4288x2848, 3008x2000). I know images are very fine and sharp.
Do these images look acceptable when viewed full Yes, very nice and sharp.
screen in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer?
After I create the slide show and see them in the computer, they are fuzzy and look like out of focus.
How are you creating the slide show?
I change the pictures into jpeg ( high, same size as the original) and then insert them into the program. I try to use the highest quality DVD format, so I would not lose the quality. But after the burning of the DVD the pictures are so bad and fuzzy and they look to be out of focus.
What software are you using to create the DVD?
I have used many programs, nero 6, windows move maker, easy creator 9, show pro, ....

Hi,

When you interject your answers into the
body of a message...please draw a line
between the original text and your replies.
It makes it much easier to read.

Sounds like your cameras are certainly
adequate and apparently you're shooting
RAW and converting to JPEG? What
software are you using to edit and convert?
Have you thought about shooting in JPEG?
I know RAW is the big deal now but I personally
don't find it worth the effort.

Based on your answers...I see no reason
why your projects are so blurry. Unless
you are creating a small size video...
320x240 for example and then tryng to
view it full screen....this makes it become
pixelated.

Just one thought that could make some
difference...are you making these movies
using a standard profile like 4:3 and then
viewing them on a large wide screen TV?
Possibly High Definition? Maybe the graphics
are being distorted.

Maybe these links will shed some light:

All I can say at this point is just keep
experimenting until you discover the answers
you need to create satisfactory movies.

Good luck
