Polaroid Sprintscan 35 Plus: Internal scanner error 8008200H

Hello,

I'm using a Polaroid Sprintscan 35 Plus diascanner with an Adaptec
2940UW SCSI card on a Win XP computer. After installing WIN ASPI
drivers en the Sprintscan 35 Direct software(via the Polaroid website),
I was able to preview and scan 20 dias without any problem. Before
scanning the first dia, I put a new TL lamp into the scanner.

Trying to scan the next dia I encountered the following problem.

- put the dia into the diaholder;
- clicked on Preview: diaholder goes down, dia is being previewed,
diaholder goes up (as it should be);
- clicked on Scan: diaholder goes down and stays in that position (so
it doesn't go up...);
- the green led on top of the scanner lights continuously, the orange
led however flickers;
- I get the following error message:
"SprintScan 35 Driver Error. Internal scanner error: 8008200H. Try to
scan again. If the error persists write down the error number and call
Polaroid Customer Service for assistance."
- I tried to scan again, the same error message appears.

One day later I switched on the scanner, but the diaholder stays in the
lower position.

So I wonder if anyone can tell me what this error message means and how
I can solve this problem.

Thank you,
Peter

Check and/or replace the bulb. It's actually quite
easy to do. It's a standard 4" length, around 12
watts or so. I'm sure the "proper" replacement
has a specific coating and spectral characteristic,
but other bulbs may work in a pinch.

There might even be a spare bulb inside the
unit (snapped inside the front cover.) Clever
design.

In my other post I said "change the bulb" but you already had.

My mistake. But have you looked to see that the bulb is
really coming on?

Also: have you checked the SCSI connections?

So sorry, my SprintScan went out of use about five years
ago. With one exception, it was the last SCSI scanner
I've owned.

Aside from the lamp and SCSI stuff, I wouldn't know
what to say, except good luck.

Hi Raphael,

Thanks for your reply.
I have checked if the bulb is coming on and yes, it does.
I also unplugged the SCSI cable on both ends (computer and scanner
side) and reconnected it. However, the problem remains....

I really hope someone can help me out on this one.
