Pointer Problems

My mouse pointer has just started having problems. Sometimes when I take it
down to click on something in my bottom tray, the pointer turns into a
vertical resize (the little vertical line with arrows at both ends) and will
have no effect when I click on anything in the tray. If I bring the pointer
back up on the desktop, it still works. But once I minimize a screen, I
can't pull it back up because the pointer keeps changing when I get it down
in the tray area. This has happened three times in the past two days and the
only thing I've found to "fix" it is to reboot. I work on this computer
about 12 hours a day and this is a new problem. No new programs have been
installed or anything like that.

Some suggestions:

1. If you are using mouse software (e.g. IntelliPoint), uninstall it and
reinstall it.
2. Go to Device Manager and uninstall your mouse. Now reboot your computer
and let Windows detect it and install a driver.
3. See if the same thing happens with a different mouse.

have you looked in control panel >>mouse to see if your settings are changed
for pointers? when there select a theme, click apply and click close or ok
(whichever it says)
