Pointer disappears in text area. Where to correct?

In word, excel, and even Internet explorer when I place my mouse over text
area or cells the mouse disappears. If I have a pop up or a window box the
mouse reappears but in work areas it vanishes making it extremely hard to
find where pointer is.

Rickey,

It sounds like you have the "Hide pointer while typing" setting turned on.

To turn it off, go to Control Panel and double click the Mouse icon. This will open up the Mouse Properties. This setting should
be on the Pointer Options tab.
