plz help-LAN trouble with 3 PC's

My networking is incredibly buggy. Try \\computername from the "Start
Search" box at the bottom of the Start Menu and see if Vista finds the other
computer. This last resort always works for me.

- Are the Vista PC and the Windows XP PC's in the same workgroup?

- In Network File and Printer Sharing, setting Network Access to "Anyone
with a user account and password for this computer" and Public Folder to
"Allow people with network access to open, change and create files" should
give you write access to your Vista machine from other computers. You will
have to log in from the other machine first, though (this is the same
behavior as Windows XP).

2nd post here.
If more info is needed pls ask or tell me what it is that is needed.
3 PC's
1st PC--dual boot--vista--xp pro,sp2.
2nd PC--dual boot--xp--982nd ed---2000
3rd PC Win ME.

I can see the Vista--(Public) PC from both other PC's. Can not get access
though.
Vista PC can not see any of the other PC's
Vista can get online
Verizon DSL-westell modem---D-Link router DL-604, ethernet cabled.
everything works fine between the PC's except for the vista OS.

In the NETWORK CENTER, I have it set to "ALLOWED". In the network file and
print sharing, I have everything set to what looks like the least difficult
permissions. (allow anyone to connect to my network. allow anyone to change
files etc...

When I try to move a folder from 2nd PC-""cannot creat or replace (folder
name) Access denied
Make sure the disk is not full orwrtite-protected, and that the file is not
currently in use"
which doesn't sound like a networking problem to me.

see no problems in device manager

I would really like to over come this problem but am stuck at the moment,
what to try nexrt.
I even went as far as to load NET-BEUI, because it used to be my last
resort for networking, it always came through for me. Not this time, and I
don't even know if vista will work with NET-BEUI? it did let me add it to
the protocols.

PLEASE- someone give me some advice here.
Thanks in advance
