Plug and play device driver

I

Idalina

I want to overwrite the plug and play device driver which
Windows XP selects and installs for my monitor with the
original manufacturers driver. I cannot uninstall the
loaded plug and play driver as my monitor then becomes
unusable.

1) Add the new monitor driver and then remove the old "plug and play"

OR

2) Go into Safe Mode and then remove the monitor.

All you need to do is first make sure that you have the 100% correct driver in hand, either on a disc, cd or your hard drive. Then go into your device manager in your system settings, go to the properties of the device in question and find the drivers tab. Now you just click on the update driver button and browse to your driver. That should do the trick.
