Free Yahoo mail will not work in Windows Mail.

You need a pop.plus account Pay Yahoo to get their premium "Mail Plus"
service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/overview/index.html

or download and use Windows Live Mail. http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview
which does allow web based HTTP mail.

alright, I did that and i thought I was on the way, but then this showed
up:Unable to send or receive messages for the Yahoo (antzakk) account. An
incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages,
you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.

Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR [AUTH] invalid user/password
Server: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC92
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No

Even in Windows Live Mail, free Yahoo accounts that are based in the US
will not work. So, unless you live in a non-US country, POP access to
Yahoo requires paying them $20 per year:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/overview/index.html
and use the special settings for that service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-14.html

If you are OK with using a non-Yahoo email address, you have three other
solutions:
* Use the email address assigned to you by your ISP.
* Get a free Gmail account.
* Get a free Hotmail/Live account, and use it with the Windows Live Mail email program.

Thanks for that Gary.

I even went to the extent of setting up a free yahoo.co.uk account, for the
first time ever, earlier in the week, just to test one.
I will leave yahoo problems for others :))
