Please Help!

Dear reader:

The problem is that when the computer boots(XP Home Edition+SP2), there is a
message that says
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
(windowsroot)/system32/ntoskrnl.

please reinstall a copy of the file above.
Anyone has experienced this before or knows how to solve this to get windows
running up again?
