I recently built my first computer and installed XP Pro onto my primary hard
drive. When everything was all well and good, I found I could not see my 2nd
hard drive, though the computer knew it was there. After many foolish
attempts to rectify the situation, I realized the hard drive needed to be
formatted (obviously). My next problem was I did not know how to format the
hard drive, so I decided to install XP onto the new hard drive because that
will certainly format the hard drive for me. I figured after the XP setup
formatted and installed XP onto the hard drive, I could simply remove XP and
the hard drive would be formatted. After XP was installed on the 2nd hard
drive, I ran the setup up and deleted the partition that XP was on, hoping
that this would remove XP. How wrong I was though. Now when I boot my
computer, it asks me which hard drive I would like to boot XP from, but the
2nd hard drive won't load XP because of a corrupt file (no doubt from me
deleting the partition). Since all this has occurred, I have formatted the
2nd hard drive and it works perfectly. My question (finally) is, how do I
remove XP from my 2nd hard drive so that when my computer boots up, it does
not ask me which hard drive to boot from? Thanks for reading all the way
down to this point.

Hmmm.. Next time use the built in "Help and Support" link so prevalent in
your start menu and search for help or even use Google..

A search for "How do I Format a hard drive in Windows XP" would have
resulted in many useful responses..

As for your current dellima - edit your BOOT.INI and leabve only the working
