Please help: ie6.0 won't load

I cannot get a connection using my ie 6.0 . It says
'connecting to site 127.0.0.1 then it changes to 'opening
page res://C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL/dnserror.htm...
I have checked every setting, I have reloaded ie 6.0 and
nothing seems to work. I appreciate any assistance with
this problem!

Search for a file named HOSTS with no extension, not Hosts.sam
Rename it to OLDHOSTS
Note: It may be a hidden file, so do what's necessary on your Windows to
search for hidden files.

For Win9x it's usually in C:\Windows.
For WinXP it's usually in C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc
