Playing movies in IE7

For some reason I can't stream movies in using IE7 + WMP 11 in XP SP2. I get
to download a .asx file but clicking on it gets the message "There is a
poblem with the URL or file you are trying to ply..." But this happens with
every such file. Any ideas? It is driving me nuts!
