Playing audio with Power Point

R

Ross

Every time I try to play an audio file from a CD in a PowerPoint Slide Show
Presentation, I get a notice that says that PP doesn't recognize the file,
and to use a 'wave' file. I tried to copy the file to my computer using
Mediaplayer, but the format that it put it in isn't compatible with Power
Point either. Is there someway I can transfer an audio file from a CD to my
computer in a format that Power Point can recognize it?

Thanks,

Ross

There are two ways to play a track from an audio CD. One is to use Insert >
Movies and Sounds > Play CD audio track and the other is to "rip" the file
to an MP3 or WAV file on your hard drive using ripping software. Your CD
burning software may give you this capability. For example, in Nero you'll
find it under Extras > Save Tracks. Otherwise, use google.com to search for
"CD ripper" and you'll find plenty of possibilities.

Thanks, Sonia. Unfortunately, when I use the 'insert' procedure, my slides
don't automatically advance. However, the music does play the whole time,
but I have to manually advance the slides. Maybe I'll try one of the CD
Rippers, and see what happens. Everything works great, as long as I have
the sound track in a "wave" format, and put the sound track on the first
slide. Thanks for your help.
