player plays music at abnormal fast speed

I have Windows media 10 installed, and sometimes My Player plays music VERY
fast, and eventhough the playspeed is set to "normal" - it continues to do
so. even when I exit the player and re-open it. To solve this issue I always
restart my computer. this solves it. but than a couple of days later it
happens again.

I think this might help because I had the very same problem. Set your
computer back to a time before you had this problem. It dosen't have to be
any particuliar date just as long as its before this mess started. You will
NOT LOSE anything that you've done recently. I did this and the problem was
gone as soon as I rebooted the computer. Good Luck!

I, too, have this problem. I deleted Media Player and re-installed it. No
good. I tried a new restore point, but I'm not sure when the problem
started and the restore point I used did not work. I have new programs
installed so hesitate to go back much further. Any other suggestions? I
ahve another player installed, and the music plays fine there. Should I just
give up on Windows Media Player?

I have the same problem also.. not only in media player, but in any player I
use for downloaded tracks as well as ripped normal cd's. I have asjusted the
play speed to 0.850 and I've found that to be the right speed, but the pitch
of the vocals and backing is still too high.
Please help with this..
