Placeholder instead of pictures

On SOME web pages, all I get is a placeholder in the upper left corner of where a picture ought to be. The placeholder is a little square box with a small square, a small triangle and a small circle in it. This does not appear on all web pages and I cannot determine any common thread. any suggestions?

Gorgo,
Possibly your cache folder is corrupt:

It may be due to an entry in the HOSTS file?

You can use a simple batch file to rename the HOSTS file "on-the-fly".
