Pixels to Centimetres (or Inches) Converter v2.0 Jan 2006

This is a very handy little Pixel to Centimetres (or inches) converter.

"If you have an image you wish to print, you will want to
know how big it will be on paper, and maybe resize or
crop it accordingly.

If you wish to print an image in a particular size (e.g., 5" x
3" photo), then you need to know the pixel dimensions on
the screen.

What are the formulae?
Pixels to Inches: inches = pixels / dpi
Inches to Pixels: pixels = inches * dpi

To deal with centimetres, we convert to and from inches
(there are 2.54 cm in an inch):

Inches to centimetres: cm = inches * 2.54
Centimetres to inches: inches = cm / 2.54

All figures are rounded to 2 decimal places.
Because you can not have part of a pixel (it's all or none),
this figure has been rounded up to the nearest whole pixel.
This means that when you reverse results (enter a number
in pixels and convert to inches and then enter the
result to get back the pixels) it won't always match exactly.
Any degree of error will only be in the magnitude of 1 or 2
pixels (0.01 inches / 0.06 centimetres)."

Example:
A4 Paper is:
210 x 297mm
for DPI 96=1 inch
we get
7938x11226 pixels

A4 Paper is:
8.268 x 11.693 inches (for the people in USA)
1 inch = 2.54 cm

Remember you may have to then convert your Pixels into
Twips, in some cases.

Twap to Pixel converters exist, a handy one is;

Twip / Pixel Converter 1.0
