PivotTable wizard can't find Excel 97

I have Access 2000 and Excel 2000...when I try to create a pivot table using
the Wizard it says "The PivotTable Wizard can't find Microsoft Excel 97 or
Microsoft Excel 9 installed on your system. This is required to create a
PivotTable."

What do I need to do? I updated my Office via Micrsoft Updates, but still
get this error message.

When you ask "is it properly installed" do you mean Access or Excel? I have
been using both Access and Excel for years. By chance earlier today, I had
Excel open when I again tried to make a Pivot Table...and did not get the
error message...but as soon as I shut down Excel and tried to make another
Pivot Table, I got the same error message.

I meant Excel. It almost sounds as though there is a problem with the
registration of Excel. Worst case, you could simply open Excel (in code)
before creating your pivot table.
