Hello,
I am getting this same problem. I just got a new monitor and had a
little trouble geting to a correct resolution for the monitor. Monitor
is Dell 2405fpw(I know huge monitor)

I have the correct resolution now 1920X1200, everything looks and works
great, but for some reason WMV files are pink and overexposed. AVI's
work fine. Games work fine, HalfLife2, CounterStrike Source,
Battlefield 2, etc.

I installed several different free players that will play WMV files,
but all had the same problem.

I uninstalled and re-installed Windows Media Player. I re-installed the
latest direct X and the latest NVidia drivers. I still have this problem
with WMV files.

AVI and MAC video works fine.

I also re-installed Divx.

I do not know what the problem is.

Please any help would be appreciated.

What kind of video card are you using? NVIDIA or ATI or integrated. That
info would be crucial before offering any assistance. Also include video
driver version.

I have the same problem too. I tried to uninstall my video card driver and
directx and reinstall them again (latest versions), but it didn't help as I
heard it would do. I even reinstalled windows, but nothing seams to help.

When I play games everything is ok, graphic wise, but when I am using a
media player like Quicktime, Realplayer or Windows Media player all images
becomes washed out. It's really frustrating.

Here is my hardware and drivers (software) I use...

Video card: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT, 256 MB
Nvidia driver version: 6.14.0010.7772 (english)

DirectX-version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

Ok. Here's the deal. I have the same video card and driver. I also
encountered the same issue. The solution is so simple, that you'll probably
be hitting yourself in the head over it.

1. Right click your desktop and select NVIDIA display, then you monitor
will be displayed off to the side. Select it and it will bring up your
NVIDIA properties.

2. Select the Color Correction tab. The section that says Apply color
changes to: will probably be selected to Desktop or Overlay. Change it to
"All".

Voila! Done

Note: I was almost tempted to rollback the driver, but thankfully this did
the trick. I hope after this, you'll be able to continue to enjoy your WMV
10 again :)
