'PIN TO START MENU' gone now

Upon doing a re-install of XP, that handy funtion 'pin to start menu' is
nowhere to be found when I right-click on any icon. Where did it go? Yes,
I've updated WinXP.

Have you tried to Right-click the program you want to display at the top
of the Start menu?.
