Pictures Won't Display

On certain sites (Yahoo! specifically) pictures
throughout the sites pages will not load. Just get the
(little red "X"s) image placeholders. Even if I try to
right click and press "Show picture" will not make them
pop up. Other sites pictures load OK, but certain ones
also will not display.

im having the same problem. Some images would show on my
laptop but not my pc. Show image placeholders is not
checked.

I have the same problem and have been searching for a
solution for MONTHS. I think I have found some isolated
others here with the same exact problem. I cannot see
images on Yahoo's site (I can see ads) and when I search
their formatting looks really weird. Also when I go to
http://www.cgi-resources.com/ the pages load really
slowly. If anyone has a solution PLEASE PLEASE email me,

Turn off your popup stopper.
Are you using any Norton programs? More than one of them have an option to
block popups and scripts which is turned on by default.

I have the same problems. I have tried all the fixes
listed on the various posts on this subject and none of
them work for me. I have checked and rechecked and
rechecked again all my settings including encoding and
image viewing setting in the browser. I reinstalled the
JVM, and have turned off all popup blockers, AV software
and everything else I could think of. I even tried the
reg. fixes. I have 2 other machines on this network with
with the same set up and they work fine, so it is
specific to this machine.

I even tried using Mozilla and I get the same problem,
no images on Yahoo.

Any suggestions? Anyone?

Well, I FINALLY found my problem and maybe yours to... I
KNEW it had to be some spyware or something on my machine
because it did it in Mozilla as well, and all the usual
(and recommended) fixes had been implemented and all the
settings were correct. I tried AdAware but it didn't find
it, then I tried HijackThis and lo and behold! it found
the problem and fixed it! HiJackThis is not for the timid
because it will find ALL items (good and bad) messing
with your machine's normal settings, but if you have an
idea what should be running then this will definitely fix
your problem!
